David MIERas
Strategic innovation leader
Analytical and innovative complex problem-solving for business and society.
Hey, my name is David Mieras
I am a strategic designer and I aim to become a strategic innovation leader. Utilizing a background in strategic design and business to drive and harbour innovation in businesses and governments. Increasing returns and making us ready for a bright future.
My leadership style
I am a intuitive, directive and holistic leader (Calabretta & Gemser, 2017). I make decisions and lead based on experience, analysis and understanding instead of “knowing”. I have strong convictions but I’m always interested in opposing views and arguments. The wider a system is explored the better the decision. I focus on the most important goals and how we can get there, based on an understanding of the details and the team. Whit attention for the small things that make or break. This is build on my stong crithical- and systemathic thinking.

Why i’m needed
Design in business
Design thinking on business schools has matured. But lacks depth. As problems get more complex design practices are needed in bussines. (McKinsey & Company et al., 2020)
VUCA
The environment of businesses and governments has become more volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) (Bennett & Lemoine, 2014). A new type of agile and design minded manager is needed to adapt to the new pace of innovation. (Blank, 2019)
Winning big
The energy transition and other efforts toward a sustainable society depend on innovation. Who ever innovates best will win big. (Bain & Company et al., 2021)
My future employers
